  • Dr.
    Sharon Waugh

    Sharon Waugh, DVM, is a 2008 graduate of Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine. She is the Medical Director at State Road Animal Hospital. Prior to coming to State Road, she worked as an associate veterinarian at a small animal practice in Maine.

    Thomas Finn

    Thomas Finn, DVM, is a 2017 graduate of the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine. During his time in both undergraduate study and veterinary school Dr. Finn spent several summers at State Road, and is excited to return to his hometown to serve its animals and their owners. Dr. Finn values the owner-animal-doctor team, established by open and honest communication in the decisions the owner and doctor make together for the animal’s health. In his spare time Dr. Finn enjoys spending time with family and their miniature Dachshund Annie, biking, and following Purdue athletics.

    Victoria Spreyer

    Victoria Spreyer, DVM, is a 2018 graduate of University of Missouri's College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Spreyer is originally from Michigan and she is happy to back in the mitten. Dr. Spreyer is passionate about behavioral medicine and maintaining the human-animal bond. In her spare time, Dr. Spreyer enjoys spending time with her family, watching Michigan State football, reading, and snuggling her cats, Ypsie and Leo.

    Kathryn J. Gruca

    Kathryn Gruca, DVM practices as part of State Road Animal Hospital's Urgent Care team. Dr. Gruca graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. She has worked in small animal practice in the Mid-Michigan area ever since. She enjoys the exciting and rewarding variety of day to day events in the veterinary field. Dr. Gruca values open and comfortable communication with owners while providing the utmost care for their pets. Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys spending time with her husband Ryan, their son and daughter, and their English Mastiff. She also loves outdoor activities, spending time with family, and running in long distance races.

  • Heather
    Office Manager / Veterinary Assistant / Dog Trainer

    Heather has been working in the veterinary field for over 10 years.  Originally from Illinois, she fell in love with Michigan and decided to make mid-michigan her home.  She is a veterinary assistant, helping in both surgery and exam rooms, as well as our dog trainer.  She teaches puppy and adult classes in the evenings and is available for individual consultation during business hours.  

  • Lesli
    Veterinary Assistant / Inventory Manager

    Lesli has been employed at State Road Animal Hospital since 1989. Her primary responsibility is ordering medications and supplies, but she also helps with surgery and assisting with treatments. She likes helping owners do what is best for their pets. Lesli is married, and has a dog named Sammy (a Welsh Springer Spaniel/Pit Bull cross), a cat named Howard, and a flock of backyard chickens. She enjoys gardening in her spare time.

  • Kris
    Book Keeper & Kennel Manager

    Kris has worked at State Road Animal Hospital since 2006. Her primary responsibilities are bookkeeper and kennel assistant. She loves to watch everything that goes into making a sick animal healthy again, and to see the happiness of the families when they take their well pet home again. Izzy, our retired clinic cat lives with Kris. When not working, Kris likes to travel, read, and spend time with family.

  • Ashley
    Client Service Representative Supervisor

    Ashley started working at SRAH in 2015. Ashley has 2 very loving dogs, Bear, a black lab and, Sophie, a Shih Tzu. Ashley has a strong love for all types of animals. She enjoys spending time with her family, friends and pets. In Ashley's spare time, she loves to go camping, trail riding and traveling.

  • Jayme
    Certified Laser Therapist & Kennel Assistant

    Jayme has worked at State Road Animal Hospital since 2012. Jayme is responsible for laser appointments. She is also responsible for helping keep the kennels clean, autoclaving surgical instruments, and walking hospitalized patients. Jayme has 3 dogs, a Shih Tzu Mix, Boston Terrier, and Yorkie. She enjoys kayaking, karaoke, traveling, and spending time with family. Jayme enjoys meeting all the laser patients and parents and getting to know them along the way.

  • Miranda
    Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Miranda is a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Her main responsibility is to assist the doctors in holding animals, monitoring anesthesia, and to order supplies for the exam rooms and vaccines. She graduated from Baker College in 2013 and has a passion for internal medicine and cytology. Miranda has three children, and a cat named Potato. When she is not working she is enjoying the day with her kids. 

  • Melissa
    Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Melissa joined SRAH in 2009 and has filled several different positions.  She is currently our head technician for our urgent care team. 

  • Brandi
    Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Brandi graduated from Michigan State University in 2017 and has worked in Mid-Michigan since.  She started full time with SRAH in the spring of 2018. 

  • Julie
    Veterinary Technician

    Julie joined SRAH in August 2018.  She started as a client service representative, but has since joined the patient services team. She truly loves working in veterinary medicine.

  • Rachael
    Veterinary Assistant

    Rachael completed a veterinary assistant certificate program and joined SRAH in December 2018.  She enjoys working directly with clients and patients.

  • Linda
    Client Services & Certified Laser Technician

    Linda has worked at SRAH since 1998.  She served as the practice manager from 2008-2016, when she decided to step down to spend more time with family. Every day she sees the positive impact that animals have in the lives of people and is passionate about doing all she can to strengthen that very special bond  Linda is married with 3 grown children who have flown the nest, 2 grandchildren, and 2  cats - Taz and Stuart, the retired clinic cat. In her free time she enjoys camping, the outdoors, surfing Pinterest and redecorating.

  • Stephanie
    Client Services Representative

    Stephanie joined SRAH in September 2018. She is a Michigan native and enjoys painting outside of work.

  • Chelsea
    Client Services Representative

    Chelsea has enjoys educating clients and interacting with them and their pets on a daily basis.  She joined SRAH in November 2018.
